OMG OMG.

On Saturday, I was approached to write a polyamorous web comic, and this is the first character concept sketch to come out of it.

After shooting some text messages back and forth last night so we knew we were at least relatively on the same page about the themes we wanted to pursue, I put together a three page document outlining five characters, some general themes and settings, and then some test dialogue.

Within two hours, I had this image in my inbox.

This is exciting for a few reasons, but none of them as much as I seem to be working with someone now who churns out work as quickly as I do!!

So. Please meet our first character: Brian is an asexual siren who uses his magnetism to be a sounding board for the rest of the group, rather than sex. The artist has shown his Greek heritage in the small bump in the nose. In the colour version, we’ll also see some dark roots with bleach blonde hair. With the clothing, we were going for comfy but also dapper clothing as part of his aesthetic and how he puts people at ease. He is part of a poly triad and together they own and run a bookshop in Melbourne’s CBD.
