Writing Wednesday: Guest Writer!

Yes, I have a guest writer today.  It's my cousin and fellow poet, Nathan Jordan.  Here is his poem: [image error] Nathan Jordan
Gigantic Imagination-Itty Bitty Reality
We are born into this worldKicking and screamingLooking only for milk and warmthNot caring about moralityOnly our own whims to satisfyWe grow up and rebel against the worldIt won't give us what we wantNow we want metaphoric milk and warmthAnd if reality won't provide itWe'll cry and cry until we get what we wantOr we'll turn to drugs and alcohol to soothe ourselvesAnd that's where most of us stop growingWe continue throughout life demandingShaking our fist at the worldReading our list of requirementsCutting those off who don't agreeNot stopping to realize that everyone elseIs doing the same thing. And then a fortunate few stumble on the truthBegin to understand their true size in realityA grain of saltA piece of sandThat's right sizeThis big huge colossal universeDoesn't care about what we demandIt only gives us what we needAnd it's up to us to realizeThat that's all we should ever want.

Nathan Jordan is accountant by day and lives in T-Town with his lovely wife Rachel, and son Rylan. A bit of a joker, Nathan also has a serious side.  He enjoys film, singing, playing guitar, and is proud of his Italian heritage.
