Gail Simone always right about creating comics

pabloonadailybasis:

“I know a guy who for sixteen years has been boasting about how he’s going to make comics and be a huge comics superstar.

Fifteen years later, he’s still talking.

You have to do the work. You have to take the risk. Isn’t it better to try, and maybe not attain perfection, but at least be able to say you tried?

It just makes me sad. So many people I know have worked so, so hard. Made so many sacrifices to make comics. Anyone who manages, especially independently, to make their own comics has my undying respect.

There are so many resources out there. It’s a new year. If this is your goal, make this your year. Make something happen.

Don’t do what this guy has done, make something happen. It’s hard, not everything will go as planned.

But people do it every day. People who are not any different from you.

Try.”
