Also, you never end a book on a cliff hanger, nor are your seeds for the next book too obviously manipulative book sales seeds. This leaves me believing that you are confident enough in your story, and respectful enough of your readers, that you do not need to manipulate us to keep us engaged in your long arcs. Thank you, it leaves me feeling respected.
Usually I dislike teasing and abhor cliff hangers, but the reason is because I see opening a book as a trust between author and reader. I trust that you will deliver the story, or warn me in advance if the book does not encompass the entirety of the story. You, Ms. Harrison, are most adept at creating sense of completion well balanced with anticipation for the ongoing story. I appreciate your efforts in this regard. It leaves me feeling respected.
In short, I'm a fan not only of this wonderful world you've created and the characters that inhabit it but also of the way you treat me, the reader, with respect and not as a tool for book sales.
These are some of the reasons I sing your praises and always make sure to mention The Hallows when I am recommending books and series.
I appreciate your efforts.
