New Year’s Day by Stacy Hoff

 

 

Happy New Year, everyone!

Are you recovering from last nights festivities? Me, too! There are champagne glasses strewn around and leftover platters with remnants of tasty food. My house is a mess. But while the cleanliness quotent is low, the happiness factor is high. It was great celebrating, even if I did so in my pajamas. Along with everyone around me.

Yep, I celebrated this New Year’s the same way I do every year—with my family. It’s as fun as it is informal. The crowd is small, just my folks, my husband, my kids, and Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve.

Today the rest of the family will wake up whenever they’re able to rouse themselves. Me, I’ll enjoy the quiet. It gives me time to contemplate everything I hope for in the new year. Health, wealth and happiness. (Hey, why not? Dream big!)
