Pointless Conspiracy Theory: What If Steve Harvey’s Boffo Was Planned?

Here’s a pointless conspiracy theory for you. By now, you’ve doubtlessly heard that Steve Harvey announced the wrong name at the Miss Universe pageant. He said the winner was Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez shortly before correcting his mistake and saying the winner was actually Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. This has everyone talking…but what if it was intentional?

Obviously it most likely wasn’t…but what if?

I mean, this is everywhere now. Harvey has apologized, but people are making fun of him all over the place. Humans make mistakes, but it’s true that the name announcement wasn’t that difficult a job. Combine this with so many people questioning why such a pageant even exists and the talk is abundant.

What if someone wanted that?

After all, ratings for this pageant have definitely declined. This is the most press the pageant has gotten in a very, very long time. It’s a simple error, one that doesn’t really hurt the pageant any more than the nature of the pageant itself. Couldn’t all this attention possibly help the pageant’s ratings?

Admittedly, this is a ridiculous possibility. However, many think the pageant itself is fairly ridiculous. I just thought I’d throw it out there.
