This week's snippet is from Flowers and Fangs. We're skipping ahead a few paragraphs.
The three Hayes brothers arrived at the Wilkins' home. They've dusted the Nosferatu (one of the more nastier vampires and the most lethal), and they've just found out T. Wilkins(newly made vamp) has a twin, who's been compromised. Wade promises to let Wilkins go if he cooperates and tells them where his brother is and if his brother has turned his girlfriend. The vamp realizes he doesn't have much of a choice...
This is in Derek's POV, but Wilkin's is speaking first.

"Tim's my brother and his girl is Sloane McBride."
Derek's gaze narrowed onto the vamp with renewed interest. He'd known a Sloane McBride in high school. Thick dark hair, light eyes, kissable lips… His breath hitched at the thought of her, but really, what were the chances that it was the same girl? Crap, he really hoped it wasn't. He really liked her. He had kissed her… more than a few times. He shifted his weight uncomfortably and focused his attention on Trent's next words.
"Don't know if my brother has changed her or not," Trent rambled on.

The stakes are high (no pun intended...sort of...). Derek may have to dust his former girlfriend, and it sounds like he really misses those kisses. lol Wonder if he'll tell his brothers he knows the girl. What do you think? Will he kiss and tell?

Surely he can masquerade as Mr. Green, the hunter Cassandra is supposed to meet, before she figures out his true identity and stakes him. She's a Hayes, from a long line of vampire hunters, and fraternizing with the enemy is simply not done, but as they work together and follow the clues, the lines become blurred when he falls for the hunter's charms.
