This little slice of festive fun is still number one in Amazon's free short story chart. I'm amazed and very grateful to everyone who downloaded this short sweet Christmas story. In common with most writers, I've got a sadistic streak wider than a zebra crossing - as regular readers may have noticed - and the agony is piled on poor Crombie. Will he escape the Italian equivalent of the House of Usher and make it home for Christmas?
Could even an author be that cruel to one of their favourite characters?
