Abraham’s UN-DEAD @KMNbooks @RebeccaJVickery #8sunday #snippetsunday
Welcome to Snippet Sunday. Since it's is creeping closer to Halloween, I thought I'd changes things up a bit. This is a snippet from my Halloween short story from the Myths, Legends, and Midnight Kisses Collection.
Enjoy a snippet from Abraham's UN-DEAD . Feedback is always appreciated.
If you're interested in last week's snippet of Rodeo Blues here you go: Chapter Three, Snippet 11
Snippet: This is from Snippet Two where Adryanna and Bram (vampires), decide to help an ailing lad (7 year old, Abraham) with a few drops of their blood. They aren't going to change them, but their blood tends to heal some ailments. This is their hope for Abraham and they have entered the child's room after he's been put to bed.
The year is 1854, Dublin, Ireland. This is in Bram's POV. Young Abraham is speaking first.

"Are you and your wife one of the dreach-fhola that guard the Magillycuddy Reeks in Kerry?" Young Abraham asked.
The child's body may betray him, but his memory was sharp. Adryanna and he had spun a tale of the blood-drinking faeries that lived in the Castle of the Blood Visage. As the fable went: the faeries helped the kings rule and win battles in exchange for blood. Nothing of the sort ever happened as the story suggested, but it kept the myth alive in the hearts' of men, that nightwalkers were only figments of a creative mind and naught more.
"We are something of the sort," Adryanna said and both Bram and Abraham turned toward the window where Adryanna now stood on the ledge, her warm colored strands glimmering reddish-gold in the starlight and she appeared more angel than vampyre with her beauty. "However," she said as she stepped into the room, "you have no need to fear me or Bram, young Abraham. We are your friends. You do believe us, I pray."

Adryanna and Bram Graystone encounter the Cantwells, another vampyre couple, who question their motives when their actions spark a legend about angels and miracles. It all began when they saved Abraham, a young lad, who would later become the author of the UN-DEAD.
