sci fi romance box set & how it all started

So yes, I should have been working on Grant's story the last 2 days *slapping own hand*, but I thought I'd try my hand at making a box set of some of my earlier sci-fi romances.

So I did it - after much gnashing of teeth and banging my head on the desk. I thought it'd be easy...WRONG!

Anyway, before I delved into the wonderfully voluptuous world of BBW romances, I used to write sci-fi romances, not a very popular genre it would seem. Though Sherrilyn Kenyon apparently writes a sci-fi romance series titled the 'League' series. I'll have to give it a go, looks good!

Anyway, in my own rambling way, I'm here to say that the first 4 books in the Heart & Soul series is available at Amazon, All Romance eBooks and Smashwords as a box set.

When I first started my sci-fi romance adventure some years ago (let's not get into how long ago, okay?), I had a very ego-stinging experience of having one publisher tell me to keep my fantasies to myself - apparently having three husbands wasn't something she wanted to see way back then. Yes, I admit I had my heroine - kidnapped from Earth, no less - have 3 warrior husbands - but it was tame compared to nowadays!

Wow, kind of my first erotic romance with tame sex scenes and no eroticism...go figure.

My response to this? I got all fired up, wrote Heart of an Outlaw (the sex scenes are few and tame, but action wise? Got it! LOL...or so I think). My sci-fi romance writing roll went from there.

It's interesting to look back and see the stories progress, gradually getting a little hotter, a little darker, a little funnier, all depending on the story-line. My first heroine was kind of young...got a blasting for that...but I swear they've gotten a little older with each book! And hey, historical romances sometimes had really young heroines...*sniffle*

It's been a frustrating, fun and sometimes heartbreaking ride, but I lived to tell the tale! (no pun intended).

I have to say, if nothing else, the cover is pretty *hot*! Had to sacrifice some time looking for that perfect male specimen

I've always been curious about box sets, and now I've got all that out of my system, tomorrow it's back to Gully's Fall and Grant. I left him and the heroine shocked and hor- er... mustn't give too much away!

McGee Magoo wow! I had no idea you had so many in that series! I think doing box sets for them is a great idea! And the cover dude was worth the time spent! :D

Angela Verdenius I know! He is definitely drool worthy!
Of course, I was looking at him with a purely artistic eye...I didn't have my tongue hanging out, I swear. *wiping up drool while looking around guiltily*

Ellen I am going to say right from the start that I am so MAD at you.
I got your box set and I was up early this morning about 2 hours before I need to go to work. I was already to go and I had about an hour till I need to leave the house so I made myself another cup of tea and started reading this and got so drawn into the story that my tea got cold and I WAS 15 MINUTES LATE FOR WORK.
I like you to know that it was very hard explaining this to my boss. So then I had to wait 8 HOURS before I could continue reading it. SO I want to share with you my day and let you know that I am really enjoying the first book, Heart of an Outlaw, in this box set. You have done a great job drawing a person into the story. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Wow, Ellen, thanks so much! I can accept you being mad at me because it's in a good way LOL. Okay, sorry about sitting up until so late reading (done that myself quite a few times...went to work once on 2 hrs sleep!) but I am so glad you're enjoying the first book. That has made my day! Especially when Heart of an Outlaw was my very first book! I shall go to work myself in a couple of hours with a big smile on my face ;-)
