How to say RECORDED and REPORTED

Today’s question is from our YouTube channel from a Spanish speaker:

“could you help me how to pronounce recorded, reported,? thanks in advance.”

Each of these words has three syllables or beats.  The first syllables are pronounced the same way R+Long E:  RE.  The last syllables are pronounced the same way D+short i+D: DID.  These words differ in syllable two only.  CORE and PORE.

For RECORDED, start by saying RE.  Add the word CORE.  Be sure to move you mouth for the long OR vowel from a pucker to rounded lips.  End with the word DID.  The D is a voiced sound so make sure your voice is on.

For REPORTED, start by saying RE.  Add the word PORE.  Be sure to move you mouth for the long OR vowel from a pucker to rounded lips.  End with the word DID.  The D is a voiced sound so make sure your voice is on.

RECORDED: re-core-did
REPORTED: re-pore-did
