How to say SHEEP, CHEAP, SHIP, and CHIP

The question today is a very common mistake!  “

Sheep, cheap, and ship are difficult.  How do I say them?”

SHEEP has 3 sounds: SH-Long E-P

CHEAP has 3 sounds: CH-Long E-P

SHIP has 3 sounds: SH-Short i-P

CHIP has 3 sounds: CH-Short i-P (had to add this)

SH is made with rounded lips. The air continuously moves OUT of the mouth. The tongue does NOT touch the teeth.

CH is made with rounded lips. The air puffs OUT of the mouth. The tongue starts by touching the teeth, the pulls back into the middle of the mouth (near the roof of the mouth).

Long E is made with smiling, tense lips. It is LONG.

Short i is made with relaxed lips. It is SHORT.
