Just a few days now until Forgotten Road is published in Kindle format (on the 10th of October). It all seems slightly surreal but I am working away hard on the paperback edition and hope to have that out soon too.
A new series of adventures in the Wyrde Woods then, starting with Forgotten Road.You may have read about Wenn Twyner’s adventures in the Wyrde Woods (+/- 2004) Prepare to travel back in time to the wondrous summer of 1940 when the world was turned upside down. This is Joy and Maisy's story. Though it has some intense moments it's far lighter fare, hopefully with some laughs and the central theme is friendship.
The series (Lord of the Wyrde Woods, Secrets of the Wyrde Woods and future series) can be read separately or as a whole as the stories are linked.
For the real Wyrde Woods junkies; Forgotten Road reveals a great deal more about St Lewinna and Pooks. A first encounter with Ufmanna foreshadows far more information about his background in a later book in the Secrets of the Wyrde Woods series.
Most of the action takes place in the Western Edgelands which did not feature in the first books: Farms around the North Woods Lane, villages of Wolfden and Mordrove as well as a part of the Wyrde Woods called Shims Copses. The Forgotten Road itself takes us to familiar places such as the Owlery, Roreford, the Falls, the Guardians and a few excursions east to Malheur Hall and Hornsby Farm.
Each book/series will focus on new as of yet unknown corners of the Wyrde Woods whilst also revisiting 'known' locations: hopefully a few of your favourites.
