New Challenges

So there is one 1940s book which is purely historical (Will's War in Brighton) and one which mixed history with fantasy (Forgotten Road).

Both are due a sequel which correspond with their respective prequels.

The trick then is to think of a Wyrde Woods plot in which Joy and Will meet up but remain in their own world to some extent: Joy's full of magic and Will's bereft of magic, shims and pooks.

This is going to be tricky, to say the least, but definitely worth a try.
