10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU
Camilla Isley discusses her new love.

I hate the way you look at me,
when I don’t know what to say to you.
I hate it when you keep your distance,
and when we fight.
I hate it when you’re wrong,
even more when you’re right.
I hate that you know me so well.
I hate that you’re so strong,
and that with you I have no shell.
I hate the way you boss me around.
I hate it when you wake me up early,
and when I can’t sleep at night.
I hate it when you let me down.
I hate that with you it feels like a free fall.
But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you,
not even close…
not even a little bit…
not even at all.


This poem is dedicated to the newest love in my life. I’m not talking about my husband, sorry babe, I’m talking about a different kind of love, the love that I’ve discovered for Writing.
