Being Evil

Tonight, I was playing in the living room with my girlfriend (Sarah) my oldest son (codename Oot: age 5.5) and my youngest son (codename Cutie Snoo, age 1.5)

It wasn’t anything fancy. Nothing organized. I’d just come back from recording this week’s podcast with Max Temkin, and rather than head upstairs to do more e-mail, as I am wont to do, I decided to stay downstairs and play with the kids.

A large part of this is because my Cutie is at a magical age. 18 months is pretty awesome. After a bi...

Sparrow Knight LOL

You do realize, however, that you are setting a template for Oot's coming relationship w/Cutie? Who won't be 5 by the time Oot figures out your game.

I think this is why my middle sister is certifiable. Not genetics...my father's trickster nature sent me, the oldest, searching for my own sucker at an early age––she's 4 years younger––and it forever warped her nature. She grew up to be mean, underhanded, & vicious. I mean, do you have any idea how many mud pies I talked her into eating?! And how many times I had her utterly convinced I could disappear into walls? I was a true fink.

I grew up to be a paragon of virtue, wholefully & woefully regretting my childhood evil, while she is still trying to get revenge on the world.

So, while you prepare Oot for the free market system, & Cutie learns how to fight her evil overlord, just remember...you set this world in motion & you have to sleep sometime...

All the best!

Chris Evans I've got 6 and 4 year old boys and a 2 year old girl. Know exactly what you're talking about :). The joy and enthusiasm of your child, their wonder at what's become mundane to you, really helps keep one from becoming jaded to the world.

Mohammad Kargaree Imagining Oot reads this post 10 years from now.... "Really dad?!... Really??"

Kat As the mom of a not-quite-five-year-old boy, I approve this so hard.
