“All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.”
– Arthur Schopenhauer, German philosopher (1788 – 1860)
When applied to methods and methodologies,
there is a fourth stage:
Complacency.
Complacency = habits = inertia.
A method not regularly questioned against the goal
becomes a constraint or limitation of itself
that inhibits versus propels us forward.
