When the Stars Are Right by William Meikle - a free shortstory on kindle. This is one of the first things I ever wrote, back when the world was young. It formed the historical backstory for my more recent longer work THE PLASM, and shows a lot of my influences, all the way from B-Movie sci-fi to Lovecraft, Ghostbusters and Dennis Wheatley.
