Canadians, can we work with nature to turn our country into a gigantic, healthful carbon sink?

This picture, taken at the end of winter, does not appear to be especially healthy. However, peat bogs, worldwide, are one of the best ways we have to actually sequester carbon instead of returning the carbon of dying vegetation to the atmosphere. The high level of water in these bogs means that decaying vegetation falls below a layer of water and is gradually absorbed in the growing mass of peat as a very long-term carbon sink.
