The Subway Summer Sweats

sunday-poem-subway-Summer-Man-Repeller-Gabi-Anderson-logo

When walking to the subway

Coffee spilling on your hands

You know what will be waiting

Heat and swollen summer glands

You fight out of your blazer

While the stampede starts to grow

And file down the packed stairs

Hide from anyone you know

The journey isn’t over

The Sahara rests inside

And you will be surrounded

By more people than a bride

So blast your favorite podcast

(Okay, Fine. It’s Taylor Swift.)

And pray you brought your Dove stick

Forgot? It’ll be a longggg shift.
