Sustainable green growth or sustaining green restoration? You take your pick 
It is hard to fault wind farms as a part of the energy future, yet they are really aimed at enabling all of us to do more of the same as represented by the second picture. We need to urgently consider restoring and preserving the natural carbon sinks so some of us can enjoy the outdoors in a simpler fashion.
There will be no escaping wind farms in the near future, but if they are seen as a part of a sufficient green future, they and we are doomed to fail. Our priority must be restoration; windmills may buy us time.
