Plant trees, not windmills.

Thank you for coming here. This is an ambiguous and troublesome aphorism. On the one hand, windmills are one of the most important parts of the absolutely indispensable attempt to free ourselves from the carbon economy. On the other, they can stand as a symbol for our hubristic faith in our own invasive technology as a solution to all our problems.
This picture, with its forested ridge and windmills planted in the foreground is very suggestive. And what is that little boy doing with that great big piece of pink plastic? Is it a sign of advancing industrial technology somewhere in Africa? Will it be powered by wind?
