We're continuing from where we left off last week. If you're interested, here's the link to last weeks snippet from WANTED:
Jace offers to bring JoBeth back to his home for supper. Since she's an outlaw and he's the sheriff, JoBeth is suspicious of his motives, but she's obviously hungry and decides to go with him.
Jace Kelly's POV.

At the doorway, she paused and met his eyes. "You're taking a mighty big chance letting me out of here."
His brows lifted. "Am I?"
She blinked and shook her head. "How do you know I won't run?"
He tipped his hat back on his head, meeting her gaze with certainty. "I'm confident you won't. It's pretty darn cold out there tonight, close to freezing. I wouldn't advise you running… At least not on an empty stomach."

So now you know why he doesn't fear she'll run.
