Hello!

Hello and I hope to meet fellow Sherlockians, mystery buffs, and those who love Victorian thrillers. When I read a book set in the past, one of the delights for me is the research, the sense of time and place: the technology, the foods, the news events, the social trends, the weather, the clothes, I want to be transported. In ART IN THE BLOOD,set in 1888, Holmes and Watson encounter Bohemian Paris and the excitement of Montmartre and the Chat Noir, a high tech (for the time) silk mill, and a few cutting edge social trends including the craze for everything Oriental, the changing laws of child labor, crime and punishment, and more. If you enjoy this kind of thing as much as I do, you may enjoy reading the annotations along with the book. (But don't read ahead, you may spoil it!) The annotations are here: http://www.aitbnotes.com
