About these wonderful custom made candles -- remember in NEMESIS we have a big Wiccan element and that's why we selected them. Now, if you don't happen to be one of the three people to win, you can order a candle from the occult store in NYC -- isn't this cool? Fits in perfectly with the deep caca in which Savich finds himself. So when the winners are selected, I'll post where you could get your own candle.
I still haven't read all your replies about the contest or about my post yesterday -- but I will.
Now, about the title ANATHEMA -- one of you said not enough people would be drawn in because they're not that familiar with the word and what it means, thus no impact, and a definition wouldn't cut it. I think this is a good point. I mean, if you see a title, say "BONAGBOO" and in the Pourti language is means terror, it doesn't touch you at all since you're not familiar with it. (yes, I made up the word and the language to make the point). A definition of BONAGBOO wouldn't help. So, given this, how do you react? Dump it?

Linda McAdams I would "dump it". That being said, I also watch for and read many, many reviews before reconsidering a book as a reading option.

Annie When I see a title like Anathema, it grabs my attention simply because I DON'T know what it means! Really, who wants to read even more about something they already know about. So, first, the word Anathema, gets my eyes involved and my brain is now at attention. Second, coupled with the name of one of my favorite authors, my hand is now involved in grabbing the book. Lastly, my legs get involved by walking up to the counter to pay for the book because now, I HAVE to know what that word is and what it has to do with Savich and Sherlock. My vote is a solid NO on the "dumping" thing! (Ok, a few concessions here: I didn't see the book on the shelf, because why spend the gas to go book shopping when I can do it in the comfort of my home? My arms had to get involved in finding the book on the internet, but my legs had nothing to do. They get to rest while my fingers get a doubly whammy from purchasing the book and then writing this little ditty.) SO NO DUMPING!!
