For what I want to do I do not do

Romans 7:15 "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do."

Romans 7

What can we take away from this very difficult chapter in Romans:

At least this much:

1. Only those who are "in Christ" truly hate when they rebel against God, it may not be immediate but at some point, "but what I hate I do."

2. Only those "in Christ" battle to do what is right internally and externally.

3. Only those "in Christ" delight in God's law

4. Those "in Christ" and those not in Christ break God's law

5. Only those "in Christ" can rejoice while still "a wretched man" because I rest in the finished work of "Jesus Christ alone."

"In Christ" we have been rescued!
