Revelation

B. Revelation

1. General Revelation

The Westminster Confession (1:1) speaks of the light of nature, the works of creation and providence.

These witnesses leave man inexcusable, but are not sufficient to save mankind.

2. Special Revelation

Because of the inadequacy of the other testimonies, God revealed Himself and His will to the church through special means (W.C., 1.1).

Otherwise there would have been no salvation.

Man could not know God soteriologically in any other way
