The Heavenly Host Status

Hi,

Now that ITA 2Ed is out, time for an update on Volume II: The Heavenly Host.

The Heavenly Host was handed over to the beta demons this evening.

Assuming they don't torture it too much (they are demons of course) then it is on track for an August release.

When in August? That depends on beta demon changes and the editor's schedule. She is lined up for July.

Cover is in progress as well, same artist as the 2Ed of Book 1.

BTW: As I have often said, Demons of Astlan is actually a single book that has been divided up to fit into Create Space Dead Tree books.

So...Volume II starts with Chapter 80 and takes place within seconds of the ending of Volume I. It is simply a chapter change.

So...if you were thinking of rereading Volume I? I would time it so you finish the first week or so in August.

James Thomas I loved the first book and have been anticipating the sequel! Thanks for the info.

William Daly Absolutely loved the first book! Finished a little early so still have some time to wait until the next instalment. The next month is going to pass at a snails pace!

J.L. Langland Sorry about that!

I do fear it might be more like the end of August or first of September at this point. (Depending on editor speed)

Beta is going great and there have been a lot of great suggestions, principally along the lines of "need more detail" on several points that were a bit unclear. So I need to flush out some relationships and not so obvious details.

What this means is that the second book is going to be a fair bit longer than the first book and I am busy fleshing out the extra scenes and details!

Hope to have that turned over to beta demons this week!

William Daly While the impatient child within me squirms at potential delays, I would rather the book is as refined as possible. And if it's going to work out being longer, then that's an added bonus!

Do you think if you threatened the beta demons with a Cloud of Disintegration they might read and make suggestions faster? :)

Wow! Great idea! I will try and see if that works!

TheRock1983 Not to state the obvious, but it's September 2015. How much longer must I torture myself before ITA 2 comes out?

It is at the editor; it got to her late due to adding another large scene to the book and that conflicted with her moving. So she needed longer to finish it. She promised it by the end of the month, and usually she beats the promised date.

Once I get it back, I need to accept the edits/deal with her suggestions and then start formatting it for Dead Tree and Kindle. Once that's done it's out there. I figure 1.5 to 2 weeks once I get it back.

Once I get the manuscript back, I will see about announcing a planned date/presale.
