Now that Colleen and Tarryn have served the main course to the 3 meal course they promised us, I’m happy to say that I’m befuddled by the excellent feast (To use Dumbledore’s words). Now, I’m waiting on dessert to be served. And from what I can gather, it s going to be one hell of a sweet and salty pavlova!
I’m so glad they decided to tell us this story in parts. As readers, it gives us ample time to connect with the characters, revel in their victory, grieve in their pain and feel every emotion with them.
Stories such as Never Never get me excited and frustrated in equal measures. I feel excited because I am a sucker for cliffhangers. I enjoy getting a kick out of last-chapters that are harbingers of greater things to come. That’s also why I feel frustrated. I mean, why the hell can’t we get the entire story in one go? Why be tortured and only fed little tidbits of information every now and then instead of swallowing down the whole chunk of information? But then, where would be the fun in swallowing without savoring? How will the importance of each tidbit be understood if we only focus on the bigger picture?
