They say you never forget your first time. My tiny inquiring mind wants to know. Was it a recommendation from a friend? Book club? Advertisement? Online? At the library? Chime in!
I don't know about anyone else, but I tend to read what I want. Sometimes its from recommendations other times its because of the summary and I find it interesting. Even if something gets a bad review, and I want to read or see it, in the case of movies and TV shows, I still do it and form my own opinion. I love love stories, and if they are true all the better.
My favorite author of mine is you, in fact you are the one who even got me reading. My mother in law sent me books for something to do while I was living in a different state than my family and friends. As you can imagine it was very lonely, I was extremely depressed and was suicidal from it. I was also pregnant so therefore I kept living for my unborn child but one day I got this box of books. I was never a big reader in school, but I had to get my mind off of the thoughts and urges. Summer at Willow Lake was the first book I picked up because it sounded the most interesting and it completely transported me, since then I've collected almost every one of your books. Now you should see my bookshelf, my husband hates when I go near any bookstore because I always end up leaving with at least 5 books. My depression is still there but I have you to thank for helping me escape when life gets to tough. I'm please to say I've even passed on my love of reading to my daughter.
