game of thrones news

A belated Happy St Patrick’s Day to one and all. Today, March 19th, is the day that the swallows come back to Capistrano. It is a beautiful mission, although I’ve never been there on the right date. But I understand that fewer swallows show up than in the past. However, as far as I know, the buzzards loyally return to Hinkley, Ohio every March 15th.
Here is an interesting article about Game of Thrones, but no, it does not give us any hints as to when Master Martin’s new opus will be done….sigh. They plan to deviate more from the books in this upcoming season, so it should be Fasten Your Seat Belts Time.

Iset I did hear, Sharon, that GRRM has withdrawn from two conventions later this year with the express reason that he is working on The Winds of Winter. This has obviously led to speculation that TWoW may be out later this year, and that reports that it wouldn't be were just an attempt not to get everyone's hopes up. This is the article in question:

Iset And may I wish everyone a Happy Eclipse today. We here in the UK and parts of Europe are experiencing a total to partial eclipse depending on where you live. I haven't seen one of these since the Great Eclipse of Summer '99, so it's been a long time. 85% coverage in my area.

Sharon That is great, Iset. I've never been lucky enough to see one.
