I can say, with relative certainty, that there was no point during Inherent Vice at which I had much more than a vague impression of what was going on.

Apparently, this isn��t a unique occurrence. There are reports of mass walkouts all across the country, people unable (or unwilling) to sit through what equates to two-and-a-half hours of incomprehensible ��plot��, wanting and waiting instead for the conventional ride that the film trailer promised, but when it becomes clear that this isn��t going to happen, they mumble and scoff as they head for the exit.

Film Review: In P.T. Anderson��s Inherent Vice Pynchon��s ��Badass�� prevails. This one��s all about the American Dream or, wait, am I, uh, hallucinating?

Tratto dall’omonimo romanzo di Thomas Pynchon, il film racconta la storia di Doc Sportello, investigatore privato con una passione smodata per le droghe e il surf, che interpellato dalla sua ex finisce ad occuparsi di in un caso bizzarro che coinvolge ogni sorta di personaggi: surfisti, traffichini, tossici e rocker, uno strozzino assassino, detective della LAPD, un musicista sax tenore che lavora in incognito ed una misteriosa entit�� conosciuta come Golden Fang, che potrebbe essere solo una manovra per eludere il fisco messa in piedi da alcuni dentisti. Diretto da Paul Thomas Anderson, il film propone un cast stellare con Joaquin Phoenix, Benicio Del Toro, Owen Wilson, Reese Witherspoon, Josh Brolin e Jena Malone.

�� : Sempre il 19 esceMortdecai, ispirato all’omonimo libro di Kyril Bonfiglioli, che racconta la storia di Charlie Mortdecai (interpretato da Johnny Deep), un mercante d��arte ��dissoluto e immorale�� di nobilissime origini, che chiamato a recuperare un dipinto rubato, che si dice contenga il codice per accedere ad un conto bancario in cui era stato depositato l’oro dei Nazisti, si ritrova a gestire un branco di russi inferociti, i servizi segreti inglesi, una moglie dalle gambe chilometriche ed un terrorista internazionale. Tra gli interpreti anche Ewan McGregor e Gwyneth Paltrow.
