She is eloping with her second-best suitor but is beginning to regret it. He is constantly fretting about being pursued by ber father, and is getting on her nerves always watching out of the window. They have stopped briefly at an inn and the servant is concerned that they aren't really brother and sister, and intends talking to the girl privately and offering her somewhere to hide from both suitor and father.
