Universal Orlando Resort Crowd Calendar Report – January 11 to 17, 2015
Last week, the flow of guests to Universal parks mirrored what we saw across town at the Disney parks: very quiet the first half of the week then busier towards the weekend. Our goal is to be within one index level for each prediction and to minimize the number of times we miss by more than two. Based on that standard we did very well last week, missing by no more than one index level resort-wide each day.

Sunday’s crowd at Universal Studios was highlighted by a 51 minute wait at Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem. At Islands of Adventure only Forbidden Journey averaged more than 30 minutes (34 minutes, predicted 21).

Light crowds continued on Monday with Islands of Adventure having no attraction that averaged more than 30 minutes.

More of the same on Tuesday with both parks having crowd levels in the lowest levels of our scale for the third day in a row. Rip Ride Rockit averaged 11 minutes, very low for that coaster.

Universal Studios crowd level inched upward to a level ‘4’ on Wednesday which means average posted times were 5 to 8 minutes higher, on average.

E.T. Adventure was a surprise on Thursday where we saw an average posted wait time of 28 minutes (predicted 19). Elsewhere, most attractions were within a few minutes of what we predicted.

On Friday, Islands of Adventure caught up to the level ‘4’s that we had seen at Universal on Wednesday and Thursday. E.T.’s wait time returned to normal (6 minutes).

Saturday at Universal was the first day where we saw an influx of guests arriving for the extended weekend that includes Martin Luther King Junior Day on Monday.

How Crowded is Universal Studios Orlando?
January is a great month to visit Universal Orlando Resort. Once Martin Luther King Junior Day passes by we expect to see moderate crowds at worst.
