This last week has been a week of blessings and setbacks. Doesn’t always seem to be that way, take one step forward only to take two steps back?
On the plus side, Alex was able to actually have restful sleep this week for the first time since he entered the hospital on November 13, 2014. The shaking in his arm and twitching in his face has somewhat subsided, allowing him some relief.
On the negative side, they had to intubate him once more to help with his breathing.
Also, I heard from his mother who told me that this week they lost Alex’s benefits. All the family has at this time is Alex’s SSI as income since his mother had to put her life on hold to care for her son. Not only has SSI refused to pay, but the family must also pay back benefits that were paid to them since he has been in the hospital.
I know we can’t help much with Alex’s healing process, guys. But we can help with the financial burden this has placed on this single mother–and we are a long way from $5,000.
Please donate.
