ILLIUSTRATED MEN: put me through the wringer....

I'm re-posting this feature re Todd Peissig, because I previously posted it with an incorrect LJ-cut which hid almost all of it - when my whole intention was to tempt you all to LOOK! So it's posted here again today.

Illustrated Men is now out for sale in Ebook at MLR and Amazon in print.

Today I'd like to feature the author Todd Peissig.

The picture of Michael's he chose to illustrate is Dirty Laundry. Click on the cropped pic to see the whole ADULT picture - if you're of the right age, that is.
(apologies for using Veronica's version here again - but it's the same gorgeous picture :))

DIRTY LAUNDRY

Todd says: "I have been a long time collector of Michael Breyette's work. I currently collect the male erotic works of several artists from around the world but Breyette's still holds a special place in my heart. I stumbled across his work several years ago and instantly fell in love with the handsomeness of the subjects, the fabulous color of the pieces and the wonder of Michael's brilliant imagination. When the contest entitled "1000 words Project" appeared on one of Michael's newsletters, I was immediately interested and jumped into the contest voraciously resulting in a total of six short story entries before the contest deadline. Only one of my stories got chosen for final publication but I was extremely proud and honored since I have had no formal training as a writer and ultimately found out that I was competing with professional writers and playwrights.
I was very grateful to have had this opportunity to become a short story author. Becoming published has always been something on the top of my "bucket list." I am also happy that of all my entries "Dirty Laundry" was the story that got published because it holds a special place in my heart since I bought the original. Incidentally, I also own the original of "The Anniversary" since it was my commissioned piece as a gift to my husband of 12 years."

EXCERPT:
Then he asked, "Do you…uh… run this laundry?"

"No, I just manage it, you know, open and close, stock the vending machines, that kind of thing." He paused awkwardly for a moment, trying to include some other particulars of his job. Then, remembering the mop in his hand he chuckled, gestured with mop handle and exclaimed, "Mop the floors!"

But with the exuberance of this last statement the mop flew out of his hand and with a loud thud hit the tiled floor between them.

Simultaneously they both bent down to pick it up. Jeremy's strong hand grabbed the handle first and Sean's, being a bit slower, landed on top of his. They both slowly stood up straight, both still gripping the mop handle. Their eyes locked onto each other's and they paused for a moment just gazing into each other's eyes. They stood there in a trance for what seemed like several minutes and then they both released the mop handle, letting it fall to the floor for a second time.

This time, however, neither of them heard it fall.

Their lips slowly came together and before they knew what was overtaking them, they embraced each other and were kissing passionately. After several minutes Sean paused, and told Jeremy that he would be right back. He raced over the door, locked it and turned the hanging sign from Open to Closed. Sean ran back to Jeremy just as he was pulling his shirt off. A few seconds later, Sean did the same. They kissed and fondled each with animalistic passion and soon Jeremy pulled his shorts down exposing his red Jockeys and at the same time he reached over and pulled down Sean's khaki shorts exposing all his glory. Someone could have seen them through the large windows but neither cared. They were lost in their passion, oblivious to the world.

From the author and inspiration, Michael Breyette:

Please note: Michael's site contains ADULT art and you should be of age and maturity to access it.

"A thousand words, a single picture... Since artists are often called upon to turn prose into a visual for such things as book covers, I wondered, would writers be able to pick up the creative torch and run in the opposite direction? I had little doubts they could and it got me excited wondering what they would come up with for my own pastel paintings. So with that it mind I though it would be fun to launch a contest and invite friends, fans of my art, amateur scribes, professionals writers, really anyone who wanted, to pick a painting from my body of work and build a short story around it. As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. I wanted to find out if that was true.

See Michael's site for full details of all his art.
