A quick roundup of my top 10 books for 2014
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
It's been a quiet few months for me on the blogging front – but there has been writing happening! An entire novel written during the month of Nano which I'm still working on now. Ugh. Still a lot of work left to do but, hey, one step at a time right?
I thought I'd close though, before the year is out, with my favourite 10 M/M books read this year. I know, it's not quite done yet and I have a few more on my kindle to read before the 1st of January 2015, but I thought a post was in order :)
In no particular order:
1. The Rebuilding Year by Kaje Harper
One of my first Kaje Harper novels and it just stole my breath away with the most amazing kiss in the history of kisses (in novels). I read it in January and I can still see that kiss in my mind's eye like it was yesterday.

2. Dark Space by Lisa Henry
I haven't officially reviewed this one yet. But the word for it would be intense. I loved the descriptions of this – that steady creeping feeling whenever the Faceless came up. Fantastic world building too. A favourite on my sci-fi list.
3. Last Night I Sang to the Monster by Benjamin Alire Saenz
Not exactly an M/M, though it has some themes. I wouldn't say that homosexuality is a main theme, but the question of it is definitely there. Still, I couldn't not include it. It was just such a beautiful book, one that just drags you willingly through an emotional rollercoaster. I look forward to picking it up again for a re-read.

4. Bump in the Night by various
Fantastic anthology! Will probably remain as one of my favourite anthologies for a very long time to come, perfect blend of horror and sex, while still managing to tug on the heartstrings.

5. Body and Soul by Jordan Castillo Price
The character growth, the sex, the plot - everything! I'm already in love with the PsyCop series and this instalment is a great example as to why.

6. Evenfall Vol. 1 Director's Cut by Ais
I was blown away by this. By the characters, by the world – I couldn't believe I'd waited so long to read this! Then I rushed to get my hands on the second half as soon as I could. The angst level goes through the roof at times – oh, but it is sweet, sweet pain. This is yet another gem that I have to take the time to review properly.
7. Hell and High Water by Charlie Cochet
And then Dex came into my life. I dare you to read the first book and not fall super hard for this character. I think he might be hands down, my favourite protagonist in the M/M genre. Everything about him is just – agh! No words! And the plot too, not to mention the world building (I'm a sucker for good, solid world bilding) shot this series up to the top of my TBR list.

8. Free Falling by SE Jakes
S.E. Jakes has become a recent favourite author of mine. There's been a few hits and misses for me, but I can safely say I'm now a loyal fan and await her books with baited breath. This one is one of my precious gems from so many of her works. Not sure why it captured me the way it did, but I think it was because of Blue. I absolutely adored Blue.
9. Strength of the Mate by Kendall McKenna
Ah! Kendall McKenna is fighting it out with S.E. Jakes for my favourite military series. This is my favourite instalment in her Tameness of the Wolf series. Absolutely loved this! Sex was hot and I was pleasantly surprised by how protective I felt of Adam in this book, learning about his issues and past. Just give me the next one, please!
10. Anagama Fires by Sarah Black
Beautiful writing, such beautiful writing and such simplicity. I just fell in love with the tone and pace of this, the characterisations that felt very real. So lovely.
