Catching Up
Just to catch you all up on a few notes regarding IMPULSE and STARBOUND.
I've been reliably informed that STARBOUND, Book II in the series, will be released in January, 2016. At this same time the mass market paperback for IMPULSE will also be released, so those of you that like your books handy-sized for about $7.99 can pick it up then.
Related to that news, I sent cover artist Stephan Martiniere' some scenes from STARBOUND so he can begin the artwork process. He leaves for Japan on January 7th and DAW wanted to get things rolling with him before then.
As far as the draft of STARBOUND goes, still waiting on feedback from Sheila. There are some things that in retrospect I'd like to change a bit, plot-wise, but I'll wait until I get her feedback before starting any detailed revisions.
Back on the IMPULSE front, I believe I can now safely share with all of you that the book has been sold to German publisher Heyne, who I believe is the largest publisher in Germany. This is in addition to the Japanese edition coming from Hayakawa, and of course the UK-localized version from Ebury/Del Rey UK.
Finally on DEFIANT, Book III, I've dabbled myself up to 13k words. It's fun so far, even though I'm not even sure how much of his will make it into the final draft. A lot of that will depend on any major plot point changes to STARBOUND, so we'll see. Like I said, it's great to have the freedom to write on a whim knowing your release date is likely 2 years out.
