Giving thanks

As Thanksgiving approaches I find myself taking stock, as I always do, of all the things for which I'm so very grateful.

I'm grateful for this next week, as I prepare for my family to visit over Thanksgiving.

I'm grateful for family that wants to visit.

I'm grateful for the many, many challenges and milestones I've met in 2014 while developing this writing career.

I'm grateful for the friends and interesting people I've met along the way.

Most of all, I'm grateful for the life I'm blessed to lead, for my husband, children, and our cozy little life in our tiny little house on our quiet little street in our simple little town.

In the words of Robert Louis Stevenson, "Keep your eyes open to your mercies. The man who forgets to be thankful has fallen asleep in life."

Hope everyone has a safe and peaceful Thanksgiving.

Jean Happy Thanksgiving to you, Melinda. Among the things that I am thankful for is your wonderful gift of writing. I have spent many days enjoying your books.
