My Long Awaited Next Novel: Identity Theft
Hard to believe it has been three years since Angel was published! Thanks to all of you who have been so supportive of my first novel and so patient in waiting for the second.
My new novel is called Identity Theft. It is the story of a woman who is frustrated by financial worries and working in an office in the process of downsizing. Her only escape from the stress is watching Youtube videos of an 80s pop star named Blast and imagining a more glamorous world. Her world takes on new hues when she receives e-mail from the rock star. She starts to flirt with him, and embarks on a thrilling life-altering correspondence.
Unbeknownst to Candi, she is really writing to Ethan, a bored 22 year-old who works in the pop star's office. One of his daily tasks is to maintain Blast's social media and he has taken it upon himself to play virtual rock star with the fan.
Blast, whose glamorous rock star life consists of trying to keep his laundry from stinking on the road and trying to remain anonymous while buying Preparation-H, knows nothing about it.
The game spirals out of control when Blast performs a concert in Candi's hometown and Candi is mistaken first for a groupie and then for a delusional stalker.
Candi must try to prove (and retain) her sanity. Ethan must decide whether to risk jail by telling the truth. The terrified musician has to come to terms with his relationship with his Blast character and the consequences of his fame.
The novel is full of humor and thought-provoking questions on the nature of identity.
I have decided to independently publish this novel and I am taking advance orders through the Pubslush site to fund its creation. I am pleased to say that in the first two days it is already 21% funded.
If you liked Angel, I would like to ask for your support. If the campaign does not reach its funding goal I receive nothing, so there is no risk to you. You will not need to make a payment unless it is successful.
If you'd like to receive an autographed copy of the book as soon as it is created, please support it early. People like to support popular things, so the more early support it gets the more likely it is to be funded. You will not be charged unless it reaches its goal and not until the campaign ends in 17 days.
