Hearing

Emu still seemed skeptical. "Ask The Other Ken," I said. "I think he'll tell you the same thing."

"I did ask him," Emu said. "He said non-alcoholic beer was a trigger for recovering alcoholics. So did Krista."

"You asked both therapists, got the same answer, and came to me looking for the answer you wanted?"

"I asked Josh, but he said he just did evaluations and I should talk to one of the therapists. Then I asked Patty, but she said her job was to manage the office, and I should talk to the therapists. Everyone kept passing the buck back to the therapists."

"Both therapists, an evaluator, the office manager, and now me. If you ask enough people, you will find somebody to tell you what you want to hear, not what you need to hear."

Today I will try to hear what I need to hear.
