Today I will start reading a BOOK for the first time in a while. I've spent so many of the past few weeks reading and catching up on comics I'd almost forgotten what it felt like to hold a paperback in my hands. Now, the book I'm going to start reading is one I've already talked about here, so I don't bother with the cover and synopsis again but will instead merely link to that post. http://www.cdennismoore.com/news-even...

Instead I'll take this space to mention how nervous I am to dive into a book this thick (497 pages!) after so many weeks of 20-25 page comics. The introduction alone runs about 50 pages, and I get the feeling this book is going to be work. That's not to say it won't be interesting; it looks like I'm going to love it. But, man, is it a thick one. And a paperback, at that. The text is sort of small, the pages are sort of grey, and the book is kind of heavy. Still, I'm pretty happy to have those comics caught up and to be reading a book again for a change. Of course, once I finish this, I'm diving right back into comics. Someone--me--bought the ENTIRE Walking Dead comic series in 21 trade paperbacks and 6 single issues. But first, The Haunting of America.
