Stuck
"The laws may be different here in the U.S., but single women in the U.K., with or without children, are permitted to date," James said to Michaela. "Perhaps you should hire a lawyer to look into this."
"You're too funny," Michaela said dryly. "I've only had a few opportunities. I never met anyone I liked."
"You're so pretty. I don't believe you haven't met anyone. I think there's something else," Julie said.
"Are you secretly in love with Jayson's father?" Emu asked.
Michaela appeared to choke on her coffee. "I was so completely wrong about Jayson's father. I thought he was a God. It didn't take long for me to realize what a dimwitted egomaniac he truly was. By that time I had Jayson. I don't want to make that mistake again."
"If you don't mind me saying so, you're letting past mistakes define you," James said. "And the way you never describe him as anything other than a 'dimwitted egomaniac,' there's something about that."
"I get it, Dr. Freud - I'm stuck," Michaela said with a sigh. "Let me get sober, and maybe I'll work on it."
Today I won't let past mistakes define who I am today.
