Easy like Monday Morning

Poppy Delevingne and I have a lot in common today: we both woke up in a peaceful haze from atop our white shag rug carpets after realizing that we must have fallen asleep while poring over our vintage magazine collections. Our hair didn’t get tangled or anything — a strong omen that today will be a good day — and then before flipping through a few more pages that we didn’t get to the night before (we like to live on the wild side and tempt our fate with punctuality) we finally decided to get dressed, boots first.

Why not the other way around — shirt, then pants, then shoes as a final consideration to tie it all together? Why did Poppy and I, like the twins that we are, decide to pull on knee high suede before anything else? Because boots, along with switching from iced coffee to hot and cooling it on the beach-themed TBTS, are the official markers of crunchy leaves season.

Boots mean it’s officially fall.

Julia Restoin Roitfeld gets this too. (Triplets!) The daughter of Carine Roitfeld, Julia directed the above for Stuart Weitzman’s short film series — the first woman to do so for the brand, bringing on board newcomer Dylan Penn (there are FOUR of us now? I bet our mom was surprised, but elated) in a sort of 1960s countryside dream world where Lana Del Rey sings the soundtrack to morning.

Just your typical Monday, really. Or at least it is if you loop this short film on repeat.

“Rock Roll Ride,” in partnership with Stuart Weitzman.
