Maintenance
I was looking online for fun ways to put some strength training into my basketball practices. A video showed a man lifting an enormous tractor tire, then rolling it across a field. His trainer explained lifting the tire strengthened the man's major muscle groups. Chasing the tire and keeping it upright worked on his conditioning and his strength.
Several times the man let the tire get too far in front of him. Each time the tire fell, he struggled to right it. After the third time, the man couldn't lift the tire again.
The video reminded me staying sober took effort, but not nearly as much effort as getting sober again after a relapse. Relationships took work, but not nearly as much work as putting them right after they had been neglected or abused.
Today I will maintain my sobriety.
Today I will work on my relationships, making sure people in my life know how I feel about them.
