Labor Day - Work is a beautiful thing...

~ Dorothy L. Sayers
Work is to be celebrated. Work is a God given privilege - bringing with it much satisfaction when it is tempered with wisdom.
Abraham Lincoln once said, "The desire to work is so rare that it must be encouraged wherever it is found."
In the Kingdom of God - we are His fellow workers. Paul tells us in in I Corinthians 15:58, "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."
Labor Day is celebrated in many ways across America. Here is a link to one of my favorite posts from last year: Labor is Hard Work

Work is viewed differently depending on your perspective. Here's a great example:
A stranger came to three workmen all of whom were employed on the same job. He asked each worker what he was doing. Growled the first man: "I'm breaking rocks." Said the second: "I'm earning a living." But the third man replied with a smile, "I'm building a cathedral."
Enjoy the Labor Day weekend - but most of all - thank God for your ability to do a good honest day's work. A laborer is surely worthy of his or her wages. Keep up the good work!
