One year after implementation, how are the Human Trafficking Intervention Courts (HTIC) impacting people in the sex trades in NYC?

As sex workers concerned with economic justice, human rights, and challenging the prison industrial complex, Red Umbrella Project’s members have been doing observations in the Brooklyn and Queens Human Trafficking Intervention Courts to document what is happening within the system. On October 1, join us at Long Island University in Brooklyn for a free event to learn about our findings and get a copy of our report.

Much more info to come! On October 1 we’ll also be releasing the report online.

The event takes place October 1, 7-9 pm at Long Island University Brooklyn Campus in the Health Sciences Building, Room HS 107. FREE. RSVP/info: https://www.facebook.com/events/544850512281784/

The production of this thing is dominating my life for the next month, along with the outreach and advocacy strategy for what happens after it is out in the world.
