My Favorite Vampires Countdown: #3 Lestat

I know, I know. How can Lestat only be #3 on my list? I guess you'll just have to wait to see the top 2 to understand.

I first fell for Lestat in the movies, and then I went back to read the books. I love him in film and on the page and can't wait for the new Anne Rice book, Prince Lestat, coming in October. In honor of this book's release, I've been rereading the first three books in the series since, from what I've heard, the new book picks up after Queen of the Damned.

Now, back to the movies for a moment. In Interview with the Vampire we have Tom Cruise's portrayal of Lestat, and in Queen of the Damned we have Stuart Townsend's version. I know most people prefer Tom's Lestat, but I prefer Stuart's. Don't get me wrong. Both are sexy and dark, but there's just something about Stuart's swagger that does it for me.
