Pre-release Nerves

Picture I've gone over my manuscript a thousand times, worked with my editor, had betas give me praise and suggestions, and here I sit, nervous as hell for the release of WISHED AWAY on August 5th.
WISHED AWAY is the 2nd book of my CR A Broken Fairy Tale series, but can also be read as a stand alone.  It's a much different book from my others and is written in a much different way than any than I have written, or any I have read.  It is a dual POV, but I want to leave what is so "different" about it as a surprise!

For me, writing has always been a very personal thing.  While I know my books aren't for everyone, and always appreciate constructive criticism, I am grateful that I haven't been torn apart the way I see happen to so many amazing authors...yet.  There are of course reviews that seem just plain mean, and that I don't understand.  As an avid reader myself, even before becoming an author, I always kept in mind that people who write our their heart and souls into their work, and are taking a risk by opening themselves up to others to bash.  I always hope that people who review books, whether they think it is just plain terrible or amazing, always remember that there is a way to communicate dislike politely rather than rudely.  One I received for DUST TO DUST said that she just couldn't stand my H feeling sorry for herself.  A part of me wanted to respond that if she read further, she would have seen my H was a victim of a violent sexual assault and trying to deal with the emotions of it, but of course I didn't because it's just not important.  People who have never experienced a violent attack or have been violated in any way, probably would have a hard time understanding the reasons people close themselves off emotionally, and being a survivor myself, I found it offensive, but had to pull back and understand that not everyone sees things the same way. Each and every one of my reviews I read and take anything I can from them. Even that one, I keep in my mind when writing, trying to make sure that I am balancing things.  Reviews should not only inform readers, but give feedback to writers to help them grow.  I know I certainly have from the reviews I've received.

I am hoping you all see the growth in my writing of CR, and fall in love with WISHED AWAY the way I have.  Be sure to add it to your TBR on Goodreads and be ready to one click on August 5th!  It will be on sale for one week ONLY!
