Stop Political Posturing

ANC MPs sitting on Parliament's justice portfolio committee accused Public Protector Thuli Madonsela of political posturing and suggested her powers should be reviewed. During Justice Portfolio Committee June meeting in Parliament, MPs from the DA and ANC questioned Thuli Madonsela’s decision to take on certain cases. This led to an exchange of words between Madonsela and the MPs. It was reported that the Public Protector apologised to Parliament for showing frustration in a recent, heated exchange with members of the justice portfolio committee about the mandate of her office and the extent of its independence.
